Adding Taxonomy Metadata


Prerequisites:

Users can associate taxonomy categories with assets in the Assets area's Overview tab.

Note
Alternatively, users can associate taxonomy categories with assets in the Assets area's Categorize tab.
To categorize an asset via the Overview tab:
  1. Navigate to Assets > Assets Tree.
  2. Click the asset to categorize and click the Overview tab. The Properties, Schema, and Taxonomy areas display.
  3. Click the down arrow icon in the top right corner of the Taxonomy area. The area expands.

  4. Click Categorize. The Asset Taxonomy dialog displays.
    Additional Information

    A category with a checkmark in Choose From indicates the category associates with the content item.

  5. Select or clear the Full Path checkbox to display each category's Taxonomy Tree path in Selected Choices.

  6. Choose one of the following steps:
    • Associate categories with the asset.
      1. Choose one of the following steps:
        • Enter the first few letters or the synonym of the category in the Search field. Click the category in the drop-down list.
        • Locate and click the category to associate in Choose From. Use Ctrl+click to multi-select categories.

      2. Click the right arrow. The category displays in Selected Choices.
    • Disassociate categories from the content item.
      1. Click the category to remove in Selected Choices. Use Ctrl+click to multi-select categories.

      2. Click the left arrow. The CMS removes the category from Selected Choices.
  7. Optional: Use the up and down arrows on the rightmost side of the dialog to change the category order in Selected Choices.

  8. Click OK. The Taxonomy area displays the saved changes.
