Usage for Site Items


Usage Properties lists all the IDs that use the current content item (i.e., a page, component, or folder) within Ingeniux CMS. The Usage list also identifies the respective elements that use the current content item within each ID.

To view all IDs that use the current content item:
  1. Navigate to Site > Site Tree.
  2. Choose one of the following steps:
    • Access Usage Properties via the main pane.
      1. Select the content item in the Site Tree.

        The content item displays in the main pane.

      2. Select the Properties tab, and select Usage in the Options menu.

    • Access Usage Properties via the Site Tree context menu.
      1. Right-click the content item in the Site Tree, and select Page Properties in the context menu.

        The Properties dialog displays.

      2. Select Usage in the Options menu.

    The Usage list displays all the IDs that currently use the content item and displays other relevant information about each ID. The list includes:
    Version Notes: CMS 10.6
    You can sort this information based on columns in CMS 10.6. Click one of the column headers to sort the information in ascending or descending order.
    ColumnDescription
    IDID of the content item that uses the current item.
    Tip
    Click the ID value to display the associated content item in the main pane.
    Item NameTitle of the content item associated with the ID.
    Element NameName of the element field in the associated ID that references the current item.
    Note
    This value is the Tag Name provided for the element in Schema Designer > Create/Edit. See Adding Elements to Schemas for details.
    Element TypeType of element in the associated ID that references the current item.
    Checked InThe check-in status of the associated ID.

    Keep in mind that if the current content item is only used in the current location within its tree, then no additional information displays in the Usage list.
