CMS 10.6: DSS Stability Issues When Rendering DITA with Complex Dependencies
DSS stability issues occur when rendering DITA collections with deep and complex dependency structures. These issues cause frequent application pool recycling events.
Statement of Issue
DSS stability issues may occur when rendering DITA collections with deep and complex dependency structures—where multiple maps reference multiple topics, submaps, and DITAVALs, each with their own references. These issues occur during the rendering process when the DITA content is deserialized.
Symptoms
The DSS rendering the DITA content will frequently encounter repeat application pool recycling events. During these events, DSS logs record the entry Rebuilding metadata: DependencyMapping, and then the application pool throws errors and recycles.
Resolution
This issue relates to the DSS RTAPI rendering pipeline and will be resolved in an upcoming CMS release.
