CMS 10.6: Site Installs and Replacements Import Incorrect DITA-OT Path
After installing or replacing a CMS site with a CMS 10.6 site export package that includes a DITA-OT, the CMS does not detect the DITA-OT due to incorrect folder placement import.
Statement of Issue
After installing or replacing a CMS 10.6 site using a site export package that includes a DITA Open Toolkit (DITA-OT), the CMS cannot locate the imported DITA-OT. As a result, This prevents the CMS from running the DITA publishing pipeline and other DITA-OT-dependent operations.
During site install or replacement, the DITA-OT deploys to [Drive:]\[path-to-cms-site-instance]\App_Data without the required parent ditaot folder, even though the export package contains the correct path: ditaot\dita-ot-[version-number].
Symptoms
When creating a CMS site export, the existing DITA-OT is included if the Export DITA Open Toolkit checkbox is selected.
After installation with a site export package containing the DITA-OT, the CMS UI reports the DITA-OT is not installed.
CMS UI
The DITA Open Toolkit Setup section in Administration > DITA > Setup displays :
DITA Open Toolkit is not installed. Press "Install DITA-OT" above.
CMS File System
The DITA-OT deploys to [Drive:]\[path-to-cms-site-instance]\App_Data\ dita-ot-[version-number].
Resolution
An upcoming CMS release will resolve this issue.
Workaround
As a CMS 10.6 workaround, system administrators can manually resolve the issue using the following steps:
- Create the ditaot folder in [Drive:]\[path-to-cms-site-instance]\App_Data.
- Move the imported DITA-OT folder into the new ditaot directory.
Ensure DITA-OT path looks like this:
[Drive:]\[path-to-cms-site-instance]\App_Data\ditaot\dita-ot-[version-number]
