CMS 10.6.308-10.6.378: "Undo Checkout" Not Updating DITA Dependencies
Undoing a checkout on DITA assets does not update dependency tracking in CMS 10.6.308–10.6.378, resulting in outdated dependency lists.
Statement of Issue
CMS 10.6.308–10.6.378 does not update DITA dependency tracking when you undo a checkout on a DITA asset that contains saved dependency changes. The system retains outdated dependency information instead of reflecting the reverted state.
Symptoms
This issue occurs when you complete the following steps:
- Navigate to Assets > Asset Tree.
- Check out and open the DITA asset in your preferred editor.
- Add a reference (such as an
<xref>or<image>) to the DITA asset then save your changes. - Navigate to the DITA Properties > Depends On tab and verify the reference displays in the Direct Dependents list.
- Right-click the DITA asset in the Asset Tree and select Undo Checkout.
- Return to the DITA Properties > Depends On tab.
The Direct Dependencies list retains the dependencies removed by the Undo Checkout action.
Resolution
Workaround
Use one of the following workarounds in CMS 10.6.308–10.6.378:
- Before undoing the checkout, manually remove the references you added during the checkout session then save your changes. CMS dependency tracking registers these saved changes. When you click Undo Checkout, the dependency changes will already be updated in the list.
-
After undoing the checkout, check out the asset again then click Undo Checkout a second time. The initial checkout triggers CMS dependency tracking to update.
