CMS 10.6.308: Missing Document Type Label for DITA Files with Custom DTDs

No documentation type label displays for DITA files with custom DTDs in the CMS 10.6.308 Assets Tree and Site Tree.

Statement of Issue

In CMS 10.6.308, the documentation type label does not display for DITA content using a custom Document Type Defintion (DTD) when the Toggle Document Type Information button Toggle Documentation Type Information is selected in the Site Tree or Assets Tree.

For DITA content and aliases, the documentation type label indicates the topic type (e.g., concept, task) or, if not a topic, the file type (e.g., DITA map, DITAVAL) of the DITA file.

Missing DocType Label on DITA File with Custom DTD

Resolution

CMS 10.6.342 resolves this issue. Consider upgrading.

In CMS 10.6.342, the document type label, DITA, displays for DITA content using custom DTDs in the Site Tree and Assets Tree.

Tip

You can view the DTD of a DITA file. Check out the DITA file, then review the DOCTYPE declaration in the Edit tab. This declaration specifies the DTD. If your organization uses custom DTDs, access them in your DTD folder within the Assets Manager.
