Ingeniux DITA Publishing Pipeline

Gain the skills necessary to author, manage, and publish DITA content within Ingeniux CMS.


Overview

This multi-day training course provides a comprehensive guide to working with DITA content inside Ingeniux CMS. Participants will learn how to set up their environment, create and manage DITA topics and maps, use Ingeniux DITA aliases, and publish structured content using the DITA Open Toolkit (DITA-OT). Advanced training will explore custom templates, schema development, plugin integration, and output rendering.

Prerequisites

Familiarity with XML and structured content principles is recommended. Basic understanding of Ingeniux CMS is helpful but not required.

What You'll Learn

DITA Content Creation and Setup

  • Overview of Ingeniux CMS and the DITA content lifecycle
  • Setting up folders, installing DITA-OT, and understanding format options
  • Uploading ZIP files, resolving import errors, and managing assets
  • Manual topic creation, linking topics, and using templates
  • Editing DITA content, taking possession of items, navigating DITA structures

DITA Publishing and Alias Management

  • Creating and managing aliases, updating alias structures
  • Setting up preview targets and configuring basic publishing settings
  • Administrative publishing options, DITA-OT parameters, dependency checks
  • Configuring DITA publishing, including choosing output formats and conditional processing (DITAVAL) settings 
  • Publishing normalized DITA and static (HTML, PDF, etc.) outputs 
  • Identifying the role aliases play in DITA publishing and URL pathing
  • Debugging errors, reviewing log files, troubleshooting best practices

DITA Advanced Topics and Development

  • Custom document type definitions (DTDs), templates, and plugin strategies
  • Uploading and integrating custom DTDs and templates
  • Installing and configuring custom plugins for specialized output
  • Schema creation and defining elements
  • Creating custom views, leveraging DSS API, rendering structured XML

Each participant will receive a digital copy of the DITA Training Guide and a week of server access following training, along with Q&A access to an Ingeniux trainer.
