Checking Schema Usage

Schema Designer's Usage feature displays results for each schema's associated instances in Ingeniux CMS.
Purposes for checking schema usage may include:
- Identifying the total schema instances. You may need to pinpoint out-of-sync instances and up-to-date instances.
- Locating associated content items, content units, or embedded components.
- Identifying checked-in and checked-out instances.
- Eliminating unused or deprecated schemas.
To check schema usage:
- Navigate to Administration > Schema Designer.

Select the schema from the appropriate tab in the Management view.
Click Usage in the Actions menu. The Usage view displays.
- Select one of the following buttons.
Button Description Find content units Component schema types only. Enumerates the total presentation content units of the given schema. Find embedded components Component schema types only. Enumerates the total embedded component instances of the given schema. Find content items Enumerates the total page, component, or asset instances of the given schema. The total content items, content units, or embedded components that use the schema displays in the Items based on schema field. Each instance displays in the Schema Usage table.
