Creating Categories


Prerequisites: Users require site administrator permissions to complete this task.

For authoring, directly create taxonomy categories to associate with the site content item such as a blog post, document, image, etc. Cartella saves the new category for users to associate with other items and for site administrators to manage in Settings > Category Management.

To create a category:
  1. Log in to Cartella.
  2. Choose one of the following steps.
    • Navigate to [name-of-folio] > [name-of-module] .
    • Navigate to [user-profile] > [name-of-module].
  3. Click Edit or create an item.

    The Edit [name-of-item] or Create [name-of-item] view displays.
  4. Choose one of the following steps.
    • Click Create New Category in the Categorize area.

    • Right-click the desired location in the Categorize tree. Click Create Category.

  5. Enter category name in the Enter Category Name field.
  6. Click Confirm.

    Cartella creates and selects the category for the item.
