Use Schema Designer to create and edit component schema types. Component schemas define which elements display in components and in what order. Users with permissions can associate field elements, field attributes, taxonomy, and workflow with component schema types.

Unlike page schemas, component schemas are always used inside pages and can be reused across pages. Users with Presentation Content Unit permissions can create component content units with component schemas. See Creating Component Content Units for details.

Components support sharing content because they provide users with a way to make changes to content in one place and have those changes display in multiple places throughout a site.

After you create component schemas, your team can create component instances and then use them within pages or create component content units.
