Checking Out and In DITA Content

Users can edit checked-out CMS DITA content assigned to them in the Oxygen Desktop Plugin. After completing edits, users can check in the content to the CMS Assets Manager. The Check In action creates a new version of the content that includes the changes made during the check-out session.

Note
If the item (e.g., image file types) is not editable in the Oxygen Desktop plugin, then the plugin prevents users from checking in and out those items in Oxygen XML Editor.

In the tree structure of the Oxygen Desktop Plugin Ingeniux CMS Browser tab, keep the following icons in mind:

  • The unlock icon indicates a checked-out item assigned to the Oxygen Desktop Plugin operating user. When users hover over the item, the tool tip displays the following text: Checked Out and assigned to "[name-of-operating-cms-user]".

  • The icon associated with the item file type indicates a checked-in document asset. When users hover over the item, the tooltip displays the following text: Checked In.

  • The lock icon indicates a checked-out item assigned to another user or group. When users hover over the item, the tooltip displays the following text: Checked Out and assigned to "[name-of-cms-user-or-group]".
