Analyzing Change Efforts

Prerequisites: See Schema Designer Prerequisites for details.

Analyze change efforts to display the total differences between the schema and content item in the Change Effort column.

For example, if you remove the title and enter a new title in the schema, two changes exist that are not synchronized (i.e., total effort required to sync changes is two). The synchronization feature implements the changes.

To analyze change efforts:
  1. Navigate to Administration > Schema Designer.
  2. Choose one of the following steps.
    • Select the Synchronization view. Select the schema in the Schema drop-down list.
    • Select the schema from the Component Types tab in the Management view. Click Sync in the Actions menu. The Synchronization view displays.
    • Select the schema from the Component Types tab in the Management view. Click Edit in the Actions menu. The Create/Edit view displays.
      • Click Sync in the Schema Actions menu. The Synchronization view displays.
  3. Click the appropriate Find out-of-sync... button. The results display items not synced with the selected schema.

  4. Click Analyze Change Efforts. The total changes that are not synchronized display in the Change Effort column.
