Module Content

Note
If a topic includes a prerequisite that the user requires a role with a plus (+) (e.g., Users require contributor+ permissions), the user requires the stated role or a higher-ranking role to complete the task or access the site area. See Built-In Cartella Roles for details.

Module Items

Folios group content by subject matter and modules subdivide content according to type. Users with contributor+ permissions to the module store items (i.e., documents, images, blog posts, ideas) within the module.

Each module contains different types of content items. Modules display in folios, sub-folios, and user profiles. Modules created automatically upon folio or user profile creation use their content type as their name.

Note
Folio administrators+ can rename modules. The module may or may not use the content type (e.g., Documents) as the name of the module.

Note
Developers with site administrator permissions can create custom modules. Your Cartella site may contain custom modules with content types outside of this list.

Depending on the content type, users with contributor+ permissions create or upload items to the module. All Cartella users with or without contributor+ permissions to the module can comment on its items. Module types such as documents, galleries, and forums use nested containers (i.e., folders, galleries, topics) to contain and organize items within the modules.

Module Entities

Site administrators and folio administrators determine which modules display in folios and sub-folios. Site administrators determine which modules display in user profiles.

Note
If modules exist in the user's profile, the user requires contributor+ permissions to manage and create content within the module. Users with modules in their profile don't require moderator permissions to manage the modules. Site administrators, see Creating Modules on New Accounts for details.

In a folio or sub-folio, use the folio module navigation or the Browse area to navigate to modules. In a user profile, use the profile module navigation to get to modules.
