Using Schema Designer

Use the following sections to walkthrough how to use Schema Designer in conjunction with the Site Tree, Assets Tree, and Presentation Content Units. Complete the steps to create schemas, create instances associated with schemas, sync instances to respective schemas, and check schema usage.

Use page schemas to create page instances.

Pages

To associate a schema with a page:
  1. Create a page schema.
  2. Create a page associated with the schema in the Site Tree.
  3. Optional: Make a change to the schema.
  4. Optional: Sync the schema and associated page.
  5. Optional: View total pages associated with the schema.

Component Schemas

Use component schemas to create components, embedded components, and presentation content units.

Components

To associate a schema with a component:
  1. Create a component schema.
  2. Create a component associated with the schema in the Site Tree.
  3. Optional: Make a change to the schema.
  4. Optional: Sync the schema and associated component.
  5. Optional: View total components associatde with the schema.

Embedded Components

To associate a schema with an embedded component:

  1. Create a component schema.
  2. Create a component associated with the schema in the Site Tree.
  3. Embed the component in a page with a component element.
  4. Optional: Make a change to the schema.
  5. Optional: Sync the schema and associated embedded component.
  6. Optional: View total embedded components that associate with the schema.

Content Units

To associate a schema with a component content unit:
  1. Create a component schema.
  2. Create a component content unit associated with the schema in Administration > Presentation Content Units.
  3. Optional: Make a change to the schema.
  4. Optional: Sync the schema and associated content unit.
  5. Optional: View total content units that associate with the schema..

Asset Schemas

Use asset schemas to create assets.
Note
Ingeniux CMS 10.x creates asset schemas for each file type by default.
  1. Create an asset schema.
  2. Create or upload an asset associated with the schema in the Assets Tree.
  3. Optional: Make a change to the schema.
  4. Optional: Sync the schema and associated asset.
  5. Optional: View total assets that associate with the schema.
