Publish Management for Assets

Publish Management in the Properties tab provides options to publish asset items for a specified time frame. After the publishing term ends, the items revert to unpublished.

Important
After configuring date settings, the asset item still requires publishing, no matter if users run a manual publish or a scheduled publish.
To set publish management options for asset items and folders:
  1. Navigate to Assets > Assets Tree.
  2. Select an asset in the Assets Tree.
  3. Select the Properties tab, and select Publishing Management in the Options menu.

  4. Optional: Use the following tools to suit your needs.
    • Set the Publishing Term date and time fields.

      Start Date and TimeUse the date and time pickers to enter a Start Date and Time, indicating when the published asset will display.
      End Date and TimeUse the date and time pickers to enter an End Date and Time, indicating when the asset will no longer display.
      Important
      The values for Start Date and End Date are based on the CMS users' time zone and are stored in the UTC time format. For processing, the DSS server uses these UTC entries for Start Date and End Date. These effectivity dates only define the time period when an asset is available after being published.

      After configuring date settings, you still need to publish this asset, either by executing a manual publish or via a scheduled publish. This Publish Management feature does not perform publishes or schedule assets for publish; rather, the feature only controls the rendering of the asset, given its scheduled Start Date and End Date.       This feature is only available in CMS 10.5+. The Publishing History list indicates one entry per publishing target. Each entry provides details for the most recent publish that included this content item. You can use this feature as a tool to help track where the content item was last published.
