Disabling Replication Targets

Prerequisites:

Administrators can prevent files from copying to individual replication targets when users perform replication on publish. The Disable option benefits testing purposes because administrators can temporarily remove replication targets without deleting them.

Tip: Replication takes place by default when users execute publishes. Clearing the Enable Replication for Publishing Target checkbox blocks publishing targets from performing replication entirely.

To disable a replication target:

  1. Navigate to Administration > Publishing System > Publishing Targets.
  2. Select the appropriate publishing target from the Managing Publishing Targets list.
  3. Click the Replication tab.

    Select Replication Target

  4. Select the appropriate replication target. The target expands.

    Disable Replication Target

  5. Select the Disabled checkbox in the top-right corner of the replication target.

Tip: The Disabled icon displays next to the names of replication targets when you select this option.

  6. Click Save in the top-right corner of the Publishing Targets view.

Note: If you clear this checkbox when performing replication, the CMS copies the files to the replication target.
