Deleting Assets

Users can delete asset items and folders from the CMS Assets Manager. The system moves deleted asset items and folders to the Assets Manager Recycle Folder.

To delete an asset:
  1. Navigate to Assets > Assets Tree.
  2. Right-click the asset item or folder in the Assets Tree you want to delete.
  3. Select Delete.

    In CMS 10.6, the dialog displays the IDs of asset items and folders the system will delete.

    In CMS 10.5, if you delete an individual asset item or folder, the dialog displays the name of the item the system will delete. If you simultaneously delete multiple asset items or folders, the dialog displays the IDs.

  4. Verify that the dialog lists only the asset items and folders you want to delete.
    Important
    When you delete asset folders, the system deletes all the folder's descendants.
  5. Select Delete.
    All asset items and folders listed in the dialog move to the Recycle Folder.
    Note
    You can restore asset items and folders from the Recycle Folder by dragging them from the Recycle Folder to the appropriate folder within the Assets Tree.
