Site Tree Context Menu

Prerequisites: User groups must exist for administrators to configure the Group option. See Creating Groups for details.

Administrators can determine which actions display to users in the Site Tree context menu.

The Default option displays the selected context menu actions to all users, with exceptions. The Group option displays the selected context menu actions to users on a "per group" basis.

For example, you may not want Translation group members to remove pages from workflows. You can hide the Remove from Workflow action in the Translation group's Site Tree context menu.

To configure available Site Tree context menu actions:
  1. Navigate to Administration > System Options > CMS > Site Tree Context Menu.

    Select Default or Group

  2. Choose one of the following steps.
    • Select the Default option. This context menu displays to all users.
    • Select the Group option and select the group from the drop-down list. This context menu displays to members of the selected group.

    Caution
If you configure multiple options, save your changes after configuring each option. If you switch from one option to another without saving, you lose your changes.

If groups have saved context menu configurations, a checkmark (☑) displays next to the group. To reset all configurations for the group, hover over the checkmark and select the Restore Defaults minus (-) icon.

    Restore Defaults

If you configure the context menu for the Default option and the per individual Group option, each group's context menu automatically overrides the Default option for applicable users.

  3. Select or clear the Site Tree context menu actions in the list. Selected actions display as highlighted.
    Additional Information
For example, if you clear Add to Workflow and Remove from Workflow and save your configurations to the Authors group, the Site Tree context menu hides the actions from Authors group members.
