At System Options > Publishing > Max Child Pages, you can set the maximum number of child pages that can display in a navigation. 

To set the maximum number of child pages, click the Max Child Pages field and enter a number. Alternately, use the up and down arrows to select a number. (The default value is 50.)

Click Save to commit your changes.
