Configuring User Agents and Sites
Prerequisites:
- See Publishing Prerequisites for details.
- MFO must be configured. See Setting Up MFO for details.
Administrators can configure user agents and sites to use for Multi-Format Output (MFO) in publishing targets.
Create User Agents
To create or configure a user agent:
- Navigate to Administration > Publishing System > User Agents and Sites.
- Click the Add new User Agent entry plus (+) button.
- Expand the user agent and enter the following field values:
- Name: Provides the friendly name to associate with the specific user agent. For MFO, this value should match the file extension to be used.
- Search String: Defines the search string value to locate the appropriate template. For MFO, this value should match the file extension to be used.
- Content Type: Defines the output type of the files created on publish. For MFO, the value should be text/html.
- File Extension: Indicates the file format (e.g., xml, asp, html).
Note: Don't enter a period (.) in the file extension value. Ingeniux CMS automatically includes the character.
Tip: Here is a sample user agent for the ASP file format.
- Click Save.
Note: To delete a user agent, click the Delete this item minus (-) button in the User Agents area.
Create Sites
To create or configure a site:

Navigate to Administration > Publishing System > User Agents and Sites.
- Click the Add new Site entry plus (+) button.
- Expand the new site and enter the following field values:
- Name: Provides the friendly name to associate with the specific site.
- Search String: Defines the search string value for content associated with the publishing target.
- Site Group: Provides the group name associated with the site.
- Click Save.
Note: To delete a site, click the Delete this item minus (-) button in the Sites area.
