Site Tree Context Menu Reference


This reference contains descriptions of context menu items in the Site Tree.

Context Menu Item Description of Actions in Context Menu Available to Users
Go to Select Go to to display the content of the current page, component, or asset in the workspace.
Empty Recycle Folder On the Recycle Folder (exclusively), select Empty Recycle Folder to delete all items within the Recycle Bin.
New Select New to create a new folder, page, component, or asset.
Rename Select Rename to rename the node that displays in the Site Tree.
Refresh Select Refresh to ensure that the CMS page is up-to-date.
Separator Separators add a line within the content menu and delineate functional groups within the context menu. Selectors are for presentation purposes only, so users cannot select them.
Cut Select Cut to remove the selected tree node, placing it in the clipboard to be pasted.
Copy Select Copy to make a copy of the selected tree node and place it in the clipboard.
Paste Select Paste to insert the cut or copied tree node from the clipboard to the current location.
Paste new Region Root Paste new Region Root replaces the Paste option only when the following conditions are met:
  • WorldView has been enabled/configured.
  • Users have been assigned languages that they can write. Administrators configure Languages user can write in Users/Groups.
  • The destination to paste into is different than the source object.
Paste as Clone Paste as Clone replaces the Paste option only when the following conditions are met:
  • The source object has a locale value.
  • The source object exists in a locale that has a Clone locale associated with it.
  • The destination to paste into has a locale value that is different than the source object.
Paste without children Select Paste without children to insert the current tree node without its descendant nodes.
Delete Select Delete to remove the current tree node and any descendants.
Separator Separators add a line within the content menu and delineate functional groups within the context menu. Selectors are for presentation purposes only, so users cannot select them.
Add to Workflow Select Add to Workflow to place a tree node into a workflow. Note: Workflows must be configured in Workflow Designer.
Remove From Workflow Select Remove From Workflow to remove a tree node from workflow.
Assign To... Select Assign To... to associate a tree node with yourself ("Me"), User, or Group. These assignments are particularly useful in workflow management.
Advance Select Advance to move a tree node to its next work state. This option remains dimmed until the node has been added to a workflow.
Show History Select Show History to display the workflow history of the tree node.
Send Mail Select Send Mail to communicate to other users or groups about the tree node. Note: The ID of the node is included in the body of the email, automatically.

Check Out Select Check Out to modify the tree node. The node is assigned to the person who has checked out the page. Only the person who checks out the page can make changes to it.
Check In Select Check In to make the tree node "read only".
Propagate publishes to latest version Select Propagate publishes to latest version to check in the latest version of the page to the publishing target(s) that you indicate in the dialog box that follows.
Undo Check Out Select Undo Check Out to back out of a check out of tree node. When you undo a check out, the page reverts to the state it was in before it was last checked out.
Rollback Select Rollback to undo any changes to the previously checked-in version of a page.

Mark For Publish Select Mark For Publish to mark a page so that it is added to a publishing target, which had been defined by an administrator.
Preview Select Preview to render the tree node in a new browser window. The preview window provides fields where you can pass in options and view the resulting presentation.
Publish Select Publish to initiate a publish of the tree node or the tree node and its descendants.

Page Properties Select Page Properties to display the Page Properties dialog box, where users can view and edit properties associated with the tree node.
