Schema Designer

Each new page, component, and asset generates from a schema in Ingeniux CMS. The schema defines the types of content that can display and the order in which fields display. Before users can add content to a site, an administrator or a user with Schema Designer permissions needs to build schemas for the site.

Typically, schemas are built during the initial site implementation process. Over time, sites need revision, and a CMS implementation may require new page, component, and asset types.

Schema Designer provides a simple interface for administrators to create and edit schemas. See Prerequisites for details to enable Schema Designer access.

Schema Designer Management View

The Management view displays the following tabs:

  • Page Types tab: Contains all schemas constructed for pages.
  • Component Types tab: Contains all schemas constructed for components.
  • Asset Types tab: Contains all schemas constructed for assets.
Note
The number on each tab indicates the total schemas of that type.

An edit icon next to a schema's name indicates that a user saved the schema as a draft. Save drafts as new verisions to allow users to view the schema outside of Schema Designer.
