Creating Ideas

Prerequisites: Users require contributor+ permissions for the module to complete this task.

You can propose ideas pertaining to the containing folio via the Idea module.

To create an idea within an Idea module:
  1. Log in to Cartella.
  2. Navigate to the folio where you will create an Idea.
    Note
    If you have not created the folio that will contain the Idea module, see Creating Folios.
  3. In the folio module navigation, click Idea.
    The Idea area opens.

  4. In the Idea area, click Create Idea.
    The Create Idea view opens.

    Click Manage Fields to add, remove, or edit fields that display in this view. See Field Management for details.

    Click Create New Category to create categories to classify content. See Creating Categories for details.
  5. Required: In the Name field, provide a display name for the new idea.
    Note
    The Name field is the only required field. The remaining fields are optional.
  6. Populate any of the following optional fields:

    DescriptionIf your idea name needs more explanation, you can provide more details with this rich text editor.
    CategorizeYou can assign taxonomy categories that groups other Cartella objects with the same tag assignments.
    SharingYou can assign various sharing levels for your new idea. See Creating Folios for option descriptions.
    Email Notifications

    You can select users and groups to receive email notifications by enabling this option then by choosing the appropriate recipients.

    Note
    The checkbox toggles back to cleared after saving.

    RestrictionsYou can select the following restrictions for the idea's content. See Creating Folios for option descriptions.
  7. Click Submit.
