Creating Announcements

How to Create Announcements | Create announcements for Cartella users to view.


Prerequisites: Users require contributor+ permissions for the module to complete this task.

You can post an announcement to everyone who has read access to the folio that contains it. By default, all users can read announcements unless a restriction or sharing permission prevents them from having read access.

To create an announcement within the Announcement module:
  1. Log in to Cartella.
  2. Navigate to the folio where you will create the announcement.
    Note: If you have not created the folio that will contain the Announcement module, see Creating Folios.
  3. In the folio module navigation, click Announcement.
    The Announcement area opens.

  4. In the Announcement area, click Create Announcement.
    The Create Announcement view opens.

    Note: Click Manage Fields to add, remove, or edit fields that display in this view. See Field Management for details.
  5. Required: In the Name field, provide a display name for the new announcement.
    Note: The Name field is the only required field. The remaining fields are optional.
  6. Populate any of the following optional fields:
    Field Description
    Description If your announcement name needs more explanation, you can provide more details with this rich text editor.
    Categorize You can assign taxonomy categories that groups other Cartella objects with the same tag assignments.
    Sharing You can assign various sharing levels for your new announcement. See Creating Folios for option descriptions.
    Email Notifications

    You can select users and groups to receive email notifications by enabling this option then by choosing the appropriate recipients.

    Note: The checkbox toggles back to cleared after saving.

    Restrictions You can select the following restrictions for the announcement's content. See Creating Folios for option descriptions.
  7. Click Submit.
