Renaming Taxonomy Categories

Users can rename existing categories within the Taxonomy Tree.

Renaming Category via Context Menu Steps

This feature is exclusive to CMS 10.6. See CMS Statistics to check your site version.

Keep in mind that the Rename context menu action only renames the category in its original language. To rename localized categories, see Localizing Taxonomy for details.

To rename categories via the Taxonomy Tree context menu:

Navigate to Administration > Taxonomy.
Right-click the category you want to rename, and select Rename in the context menu.
The Rename Category dialog displays.
Enter a new name for the category in the Category Name field, and click Confirm.
The system renames the category.

Renaming Category via Title Field Steps

To rename categories via the Taxonomy Tree context menu:

Navigate to Administration > Taxonomy.
Select the category you want to rename.
Click the Category tab in the right-hand pane.
Enter a new category name in the Title field, and click Save.
The system renames the category.
