Configuring Publishing Targets
A publishing target require set up before publishes can run. A publishing target defines the physical directory where XML pages will be published and determines whether XMLcontent is transformed to HTML upon publication.
Publishing targets can be used to exclude portions of a site from a full publish. This feature is useful when different organizational units, represented by different sections in the Site Tree and Assets Tree, have asynchronous publishing schedules.
Each publishing target begins at the designated root page xID. You can publish the following content to respective publishing targets:
- Child content items and assets marked for publish.
- Sibling content items and assets marked for publish.
- Dependent content items elsewhere in the Site Tree (e.g., navigations).
