Deleting Categories

Prerequisites: Users require site administrator permissions to complete this task.
Deleting a category removes the category and its children from the available categories list and removes its associations with site content. You can delete available categories on the Category Management or Deleted Category Management view. In Deleted Category Management view of the category tree, deleted categories display as dimmed.
Note
Restore or permanently remove deleted categories in the Deleted Category Management view of the category tree.
Note
Deleted categories maintain CanApply and CanView permission settings.
To delete categories:
  1. Log in to Cartella.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Categories.
  3. Choose one of the following steps.
    • Click the category and select Actions > Delete.

    • Right-click the category in the Category Management tree and click Delete Category.

      Delete Category via Tree Context Menu

    Cartella deletes the category and its descendants.
    Tip
    Click View Deleted to view deleted (dimmed) categories.
