Configuring Device Bundle Previews

Prerequisites: See Publishing Prerequisites for details.
Using the Device Manager view, administrators can create custom bundles or use Ingeniux CMS default bundles that group mobile devices by manufacturer and screen size.

Users with permissions can then preview mobile displays by selecting the appropriate device bundles from a menu.

To configure a device bundle:
  1. Navigate to Administration > Publishing System > Device Manager.

    Ingeniux CMS selects the Enable Mobile Devices Emulation checkbox by default. When mobile preview is enabled, users can access the Select Device Emulation menu on the Preview tab.

    The Device Manager view provides default bundles for generic mobile phones, iPads, and iPhones. You can modify each bundle's fields to suit your needs.

  2. Click the Add New Bundle plus (+) button.

  3. Click the new bundle's down arrow to expand the entry.
  4. Provide values for the following fields:
    FieldDescription
    NameThe name you provide displays in the preview drop-down menu.
    Screen WidthThe display width in pixels.
    Screen HeightThe display height in pixels.
    User AgentThe user agent associated with the device. See List of User Agent Strings for details about possible user agent values.

  5. Click Save.
    Note
    The Save and Cancel buttons display only after you provide or change the required values.
