CMS 10.6 Importing Content Unit Views


Prerequisites: See Page Builder Prerequisites for details.

Administrators can import content unit views from the DSS project to the Assets Manager.

See MVC Views as Managed Assets for details about views stored in the Assets Manager.

To import a content unit view:

  1. Navigate to Administration > Presentation Content Units.
    The Management screen displays.
  2. Select a content unit either from the Field Content Units tab or the Component Content Units tab.
  3. Select Edit in the Actions menu.
    The Create/Edit view displays.

  4. Select Preview in the Content Unit Actions menu.
    The Preview Content Unit dialog displays the XML source code and the Rough Preview tab.

  5. Select Import DSS View in the dialog toolbar.
  6. Select Yes in the Import DSS View confirmation dialog that displays.
    Warning
    If you click Yes, you will delete all work currently in progress for the view.

  7. Select Save View to store the imported view in Assets > Assets Tree.

The system saves the imported content unit view to the following filepath in the Assets Manager:

Assets\Views\Shared\Editable

For the name of the content unit view asset, see the @Layout attribute via the XML source code in the Preview Content Unit dialog.
