CMS 10.6 Deleting Columns

Users can delete columns from their parent row layouts in the Page Builder presentation. When users delete columns, Page Builder deletes the column and the nested content units from the row layout in the presentation canvas grid.

Deleted embedded content cannot be recovered.
To delete a row layout:
  1. Navigate to Site > Site Tree.
  2. Select the page with the Page Builder presentation.
  3. Check out the page, and select the Design tab.
The Design tab workspace and accordion menu displays.
  4. Choose one of the following steps.
    Note
Page Builder requires row layouts to hold at least one column. If the row layout only contains one column, Page Builder prevents you from deleting that column.
    • Delete the column via the Column header toolbar.
      1. Select the Column header of the row layout in the presentation canvas grid via the Design tab workspace.

The gear (Column Properties) icon and trash icon displays.

    Note
The same presentation has versions for different publishing targets. Mapped fields indicate content units associated with respective publishing targets. See Deleting Content Units for details about presentation content unit placement deletions.
    • Select Keep Mapped Fields (recommended). This option maintains content units attached to other publishing targets not selected for deletion. If you keep mapped fields, the units remain within the schema.
    • Select Remove Mapped Fields. This option permanently deletes all units and, if applicable, mapped fields from all publishing targets. If you remove mapped fields, the system omits the fields from the schema.
