Removing Category Associations


Users with access to Taxonomy Manager can remove associated content items from individual categories.

Tip

Users with appropriate taxonomy permissions in the Site Tree and Assets Tree can remove categories from individual content items. See Categorizing Pages and Components and Categorizing Assets for details.

To remove content item associations from a category:

  1. Navigate to Administration > Taxonomy.
  2. Select the category in the Taxonomy Tree.

    The Category, Associations, Security, and Synonyms tabs display.

  3. Click the Associations tab.

    Content items associated with the category display.

  4. Optional: Press CTRL+Click or SHIFT+Click to select more than one content item to remove in the list.

  5. Follow the step that corresponds with your site version. See CMS Statistics to check your site version.

      Remove one or more content item associations from the category.

      1. Click the Remove Association button Remove Association

        The Remove Association dialog displays.

      2. Click Yes to confirm the removal.

      Remove one or more content item associations from the category.

      1. Hover over the space located to the left of content item's ID entry. If you chose multiple items, hover over any of the selected items.

      2. Click the minus (-) icon.

        The confirmation dialog displays.

      3. Click OK to confirm the removal.

    The system removes the content item associations from the category.
