CMS 10.6 Editing Content Unit Views

Prerequisites:

The content unit and the content unit view exist separately. Administrators can edit built-in views directly within the Preview Content Unit dialog.

Note

The CMS provides alternative features to edit views.

To edit a presentation content unit view via the Preview Content Unit dialog:
  1. Navigate to Administration > Presentation Content Units.
    The Management screen displays.
  2. Select the content unit to edit from the Field Content Units tab or the Component Content Units tab.
  3. Select Edit in the Actions menu.
    The Create/Edit view displays.

  4. Select Preview in the Content Unit Actions menu.
    The Preview Content Unit dialog displays the XML source code, the Rough Preview tab, and the Design tab.

  5. Apply changes to the view code in the dialog Design tab.

  6. Click Save View. Ingeniux CMS saves edits to built-in views in Assets > Assets Tree.
    Additional Information
    The system saves the edits to the content unit view stored within the Assets Manager under the filepath Assets\Views\Shared\Editable. For the name of the content unit view asset, see the @Layout attribute via the XML source code in the Preview Content Unit dialog.
