Administrators can copy a user group's permission settings and then paste them in another
group's permission settings. This feature replaces all the receiving group's original
permission settings with the newly pasted permissions.
To copy and paste group permissions:
- Navigate to .
- Select the user group in the Groups list that contains the
permissions you want to copy.
- Complete the following steps to copy the current permission settings.
- Select the user group in the Groups list that contains the
permissions you want to copy.
The group's Info tab displays.
- Select or clear permissions to suit your needs.
- Select the Copy current group permissions to clipboard
button
in the Permissions area.
The CMS copies all permission settings from the group to the clipboard, and
the CMS displays the
Copied! message when the action
completes.
Note
The system copies all current permission settings, no matter if the
group permissions are saved or unsaved.
- Complete the following steps to paste the copied permission settings.
Caution
When you paste permissions to a group, the system replaces all
the original permissions applied to that group (no matter if selected or cleared) with
the new permissions.
- Navigate to the Groups list, and select the user group that
will receive the copied permissions.
The group's Info tab displays.
- Select the Paste group permissions button
in the Permissions area.
The Paste Permissions dialog displays.
- Right-click the text area and select Paste in the context
menu, or select the text area and press
CTRL+V on your keyboard.
The system pastes the copied permissions JSON from your clipboard to the
text area.

- Select Accept.
The system overwrites current group's permission settings with the copied and
pasted permissions.
Tip
You can undo pasted permissions by selecting
Cancel on the rightmost side of the Groups
header. This action cancels unsaved changes within the group.
