XHTML Editor Link CSS Classes

Prerequisites:
  • User groups must exist for administrators to configure the Group option. See Creating Groups for details.
  • The Custom CSS file that contains the link CSS classes must exist and be specified. See XHTML Editor Custom Content CSS for details.

Administrators can customize CSS link selectors (i.e., classes) available to users in the XHTML editors. Specify link classes to make available by default or on a "per group" basis.

To set available XHTML editor link CSS classes:
  1. Navigate to Administration > System Options > CMS > XHTML Editor > Link CSS Classes.
  2. Choose one of the following steps:
    • Click the Default option to modify configurations for all users.
    • Click the Group option to modify configurations for a particular user group. Choose the group from the Selected Group drop-down list.

Version Notes: CMS 10.6 vs. CMS 10.0–10.5
      • Groups with checkmarks ✓ in the list have custom configurations.
      • If you modify configurations for the Default option and the per individual Group option, each group's configurations automatically overtake the Default option for applicable users.

      • If you want to delete configurations from a particular group, complete the step that corresponds with your CMS version:
        • For CMS 10.6: Clear the checkbox next to the group, then click Yes in the Restore Defaults dialog that displays.

          CMS 10.6 Restore Defaults

        • CMS 10.0–10.5: Hover over the checkbox next to the group, then click the Restore Defaults minus (-) icon.

          CMS 10.0–10.5 Restore Defaults

  3. Choose one of the following steps:
    • Add link classes to the option set.
      1. Click Add.

      2. Enter the link class friendly name in the Display Name column. This name identifies the link class for users.
      3. Click the corresponding cell in the CSS Class column. Enter the CSS class name. This name identifies the link class in the CSS.

Enter Link Selector Display Name and CSS Class Name

      Additional Information
For example, if you add a link class with the Display NameAsset Link and the CSS ClassassetLink, and save your configurations to only the Authors group, the XHTML editor's Insert/Edit Link dialog displays Asset Link in the Class drop-down list to only Authors group members.

    • Delete link classes from the option set.
      1. Select the link class.
      2. Click Remove.

    Caution
If you plan to make configuration changes for more than one user group, ensure you save your changes before switching between groups. If you switch from one to another without saving, you will lose your changes.
  4. Click Save.
