Role Management
Prerequisites:
Permissions determine the actions users can perform in a Cartella site. For example, one user might have permission to create content, while another user might have permission to both create and approve content.
Permissions are contained within roles, which are assigned to users and groups. In the Role Management view, administrators create and delete roles and edit the permissions associated with existing roles.
Built-In Cartella Roles
The table displays roles with least to most permissions. If a topic lists a prerequisite with a role followed by a plus (+) (e.g., Users require contributor+ permissions), the user requires the stated role or a higher-ranking role to complete the task or access the site area. Cartella has four built-in roles that cannot be deleted or edited:
Role | Description | Permissions |
---|---|---|
Contributors | Users that create and upload items in folio and sub-folio modules. If a moderator or folio administrator approves of the content, the content displays in the module. |
|
Sr Contributor | Users that create and upload items in folio and sub-folio modules. Created content displays in the module without requiring approval from a moderator or folio administrator. |
|
Moderator | Users that manage content in folios, sub-folios, and modules. Moderators can create modules. |
|
Folio Admin | Users that create and manage folios available to moderators and contributors. |
|
Choose these roles or create custom roles and permissions to assign to users and groups.
