Purging Users

Prerequisites: Users require site administrator permissions to complete this task.
Purging users permanently deletes users from the Cartella database.

Purging a user:

  • Cancels all their user and group-given permissions.
  • Removes the user from the User Profile Directory.
  • Permanently deletes all their created or authored items.
  • Permanently revokes their access to their Cartella account.

Warning
Purged users cannot be restored.
Tip
If your database becomes excessively large, purging may improve Cartella’s performance.
  1. Log in to Cartella.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Users.
  3. Click View Deleted.

    Click View Delete to View Deleted Users

  4. Choose one of the following steps.
    • Click the user and select Actions > Purge.

      Click CTRL+Shift to select multiple users.
    • Click the Restore or Purge (|) button in the Purge/Restore column of the user's table row.

  5. Click OK.
    Cartella purges (i.e., permanently deletes) the user(s).
