Updating Aliases via Site Tree Context Menu

Prerequisites:

Users can sync alias structures to their associated DITA assets by accessing the New > Alias action in the Site Tree context menu.

To update a DITA alias structure via the Site Tree context menu:
  1. Navigate to Site > Site Tree.
  2. Choose one of the following steps.
    • Right-click the individual out-of-sync alias to update, and select Update Alias Structure.
    • Right-click the top level alias to simultaneously update all out-of-sync descendent aliases, and select Update Alias Structure.
    Note
    The Update Alias Structure action only becomes available when the associated DITA asset contains new content changes. If the update icon of the alias displays color (yellow) and the icon tooltip displays Content Changed, Alias needs update! in the Site Tree, then the alias requires an update to sync the new changes.
    The system syncs the new DITA asset changes to the correlating DITA aliases. If you executed the action on the top level alias in the structure, then the system simultaneously syncs the DITA asset changes to the top level alias and descendent aliases within the alias structure.
