Adding Aliases via Assets Tree Context Menu


Prerequisites:
  • Users must have the following group permissions:
    • site content item and asset item authoring permissions.
    • alias management permissions.
  • DITA assets must be checked in to the appropriate publishing target.

Users can add alias structures by accessing the Create Alias Structure action in the Assets Tree context menu.

To add an alias structure via the Assets Tree context menu:
  1. Navigate to Assets > Assets Tree.
  2. Right-click the DITA asset that you want for the new alias structure root, and select Create Alias Structure.

  3. Choose one of the following options.

    Search for PageThis option is selected by default. Search for the site page, component, or folder that will contain the alias structure. Enter the xID or keywords based on the content item name in the search field.
    Tip
    Select the search result entry to display the file path of the site content item or folder.
    Select Page from Site TreeLocate the site page, component, or folder that will contain the alias structure in the provided Site Tree.
  4. Select the content item or folder, and click Create Alias.

    A confirmation message displays.
  5. Select Create in the Creating Alias dialog to confirm the new alias structure.
    The aliases generate under the selected content item or folder in the Site Tree. The aliases mirror the hierarchical structure defined within the DITA map.
