Creating Aliases by Site Tree


Create alias structures for DITA assets using the Site Tree context menu. Right-click any site page, component, or folder then select New > Alias to begin the process.

To create an alias structure using the Site Tree context menu:
  1. Navigate to Site > Site Tree.
  2. Right-click the site page, component, or folder where you want to create the alias, then click New > Alias.

  3. Select the DITA asset that will serve as the root for the new alias structure. Choose from these search options:

    Search for AssetSearch for the DITA asset by entering its a/ID or name in the search field.
    Tip
    Select any search result to display its asset filepath.
    Select Asset from Asset TreeBrowse for the DITA asset in the Asset Tree.

  4. Click Create Alias.
    The Creating Alias confirmation dialog displays, asking you to verify the alias structure creation for the selected DITA asset under the chosen parent content item.
  5. Verify the DITA asset and Site Tree location are correct, then click Create.
    The new alias structure displays under the parent content item or folder in the Site Tree.

Task Troubleshooting:

Version Notes: CMS 10.6.492
CMS 10.6.492 displays only aliases marked to the publishing target in the Site Tree.

If the Site Tree does not display the new alias structure, verify that the aliased DITA asset root is marked to the target selected in the Site Tree publishing target filter.
